FP helps in fight against COVID-19

We are very proud to have contributed to the development of specific nanobodies against SARS-CoV-2 viral particles. This was work led by a group at UCSF who developed and screened a large library of synthetic nanobodies to bind to the spike surface protein of the virus. For the best candidates, they used X-ray footprinting to help determine the interaction sites between the nanobodies and the viral proteins, and showed that the nanobodies essentially block the viral protein access to the host cells. Now, they are developing a commercial nasal spray - "AeroNabs" - based on the study.
